Valuations

Works of art can be valued for an indication of the auction value, insurance value or even replacement value. It is always best to send preferably a digital image/photo of the works of art to info@jansix.nl. When possible, please forward the name of the artist, possible signature, used materials (panel/canvas/copper) and the measurements (height by length in cm.) without frame. All known information related to provenance will speed up the research.

Aside our own expertise, we will always discuss your work of art with independent experts within the international accepted art historical field. We frequently use the Rijksinstituut voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie at The Hague (www.rkd.nl), the Art Loss Register (www.artloss.com) and various art price websites on the internet as Artnet (www.artnet.com). When inheriting works of art, Jan Six Fine Art can provide a full inventory and valuation at the residence. Also, a proposal for internal sale can be provided at an hourly rate with VAT and travel allowance. You will receive a full valuation with inventory, digital reproductions at high resolution, the different valuations and possible restoration advice.
